It is with great pleasure that I wholeheartedly endorse Charles Kangethe for Town of Wawayanda Supervisor.
I met Charles in August 2024 when I learned he had formed a group, along with a few of his neighbors, to combat the onslaught of mega-warehouses coming to Wawayanda. That group was Save Wawayanda Inc, created and formed by Charles in less than 10 days after receiving notice of a public hearing concerning whether the town should approve a nearly 400,000 square foot warehouse to be constructed abutting his and his neighbors’ back yards. In less than ten days, he and his neighbors generated enough interest and support to fill the town hall with concerned citizens questioning the wisdom of such a project and challenging the engineering and environmental reviews which should have been conducted. Through Charles’ leadership, Save Wawayanda Inc. has grown to become a strong voice in the Orange County community fighting for transparency, better planning, and better government for the citizens of Wawayanda and throughout the county.
I have also had the pleasure of working with Charles, who is a local realtor, on many residential real estate transactions. I have found Charles to be knowledgeable and a strong voice for his clients, representing their interests with vigor and integrity. It has been my experience that Charles’ real estate clients truly appreciate his efforts in finding them their dream home or helping them sell their home so they can move on to other opportunities, making their transition as smooth as possible.
Charles is a concerned and active Wawayanda resident, family man, realtor and management professional who has unselfishly given his time and expertise to ensure that the residents of Wawayanda have a say in our local government, holding our elected officials responsible for their actions and reminding them that there are those of us who watch what they do or try to hide.
